Running Against Father Time

I’ve been running for the better part of the past 20 years

In that time, I’ve run 10k’s, 5k’s and a half marathon.

My times are not the fastest or the slowest, but I’ve tried to be consistent.

I’m turning 60 this year. I’m hoping this year can be one of my best years ever! More miles, more races and more fun!

I’m a type 1 diabetic and Running is important to my health as it helps me to keep my diabetes in check. My struggles with Diabetes will go on for the rest of my life.

My job is stressful and my Running also helps me to maintain my mental health and keep my stress levels in check. Through every issue in life, running has helped me remain sane.

In life It’s not about the times, the wins or the losses, It’s about grinding and moving

I hope you join me in my journey!

Week 3 It’s been a pretty good week. I ran outside 4 times this week and totalled 12 miles. My times were pretty good for me hovering around 11:50 per mile until this morning. This morning the pavement was covered with snow and ice making the footing difficult in spots so I backed off the…

Week 2 Yearly Total 17.46 miles. This week didn’t go the way I planned. I was under the weather for a Monday and Tuesday. It broke up my plan to try for 100 straight days. As an older runner sometimes things don’t go to plan. The key to continuing to run into your 60’s is…

Day 2 This morning I ran 2.82 miles in 31 minutes. This morning i’m grateful for quiet early mornings. As most of you know I am an early morning person. When I was just out of high school my first job was opening a gas station. I had to be at the station at 6…

The new year begins! Day 1 Each year has different hopes, dreams and goals. This year is no different. Last year I took on a 100 day challenge to start the year. I’m going to try for 100 days. My confidence isn’t as high as last year. I’ve got some nagging aches and pains from…
